In Trou Normand Hannibal is literally trying to build a family for himself. He has been surrounding himself with fragile, broken people for the whole of the show, gaining their trust, reeling them in. A very big part of me wants to believe that he is truly searching for emotional connection, and I do think he is, but I can’t help feeling that there is more.
